Bring a touch of Japanese tradition to your next celebration with our Kumihimo Friendship Bracelet Workshop! Kumihimo means “gathered threads,” and this ancient braiding technique—once used for samurai armour and kimono cords—has become a fun, colourful craft enjoyed around the world.

In this hands-on workshop, you will learn how to use a foam Kumihimo disk to weave your own patterned bracelet. With a rainbow of threads to choose from, each participant can experiment with different color combinations and simple braiding techniques to make a bracelet or keyring that’s truly unique.

By the end of the session, everyone will:

  • Create their very own colorful Kumihimo friendship bracelet

  • Learn the basics of braiding and finishing neatly

  • Take home both a bracelet and their own Kumihimo disk—so they can keep creating long after the party.
